Sara Sanelli (formerly Sara Ferguson) is a lawyer at Lewis and Associates LLP. She joined the firm as an articling student in February 2022. Sara has over nine years of legal experience.

In 2017, Sara obtained her Honors B.A. from York University and was placed on the Dean’s List for academic excellence.

Sara obtained her Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School in December 2021. Sara has won several Awards for her academic excellence, including the James Kreppner Memorial Award, and the Aubrey E. Golden Award.

Before law school, Sara worked as an administrator at a family law firm in Toronto for six years. While in law school, Sara interned with several judges in the Ontario Court of Justice in the Criminal Division. Sara was also selected to work with Innocence Canada. During her time with Innocence Canada, Sara developed an Independent Commission that would assist the Minister of Justice to support people who have been wrongfully convicted.

Sara is a champion for access to justice, 2SLGBTQIA+, refugee, and disability rights. She has assisted various not-for-profit organizations, including Canadian Red Cross, CultureLink, Egale Canada, and Friends of Ruby.

On her free time, Sara likes to go for long hikes with her partner, and her two Italian Greyhounds, Sedgwick and Sophie.
