Jose Quevedo joined the firm in 2023 and began his articling in September 2025. He holds an LLB from Colombia and an LLM in Canadian Common Law from the University of Toronto. Jose is fluent in Spanish and English and proficient in French.
Before moving to Canada, Jose advised public institutions in Colombia on Human Rights, Administrative, and Public International Law. As part of the Ministry of Justice, he contributed to the legal framework for the Transitional Justice System established by the Peace Agreement. He was awarded a scholarship by the International Nuremberg Principles Academy in Germany to participate in its International Criminal Law Summer Academy for Young Professionals.
He also served as Legal Advisor to the President of Colombia’s Commission for the Clarification of Truth, co-authoring two texts in the Commission’s final report. At the University of Toronto, Jose volunteered as a research assistant with the International Human Rights Program (IHRP).
When Jose is not engaged in his passion for working in Human Rights and humanitarian causes, he enjoys the outdoors with his partner and two rescued terrier mixes from Colombia.
