Paola Matos

Paola Matos joined Lewis & Associates LLP in June of 2023. She is a foreign-trained lawyer and received her master’s degree in environmental law from Saint Mary Catholic University of Arequipa-Peru in 2005, before coming to Canada, Paola worked in different capacities in the public and private sectors focusing on Administrative, Environmental, and Employment Law.

Paola has worked as a law clerk for the Criminal Chamber of the Superior Court of Justice, the Ministry of Labour and Employment as a legal advisor, and at the Postgraduate Faculty of Environmental Law at Saint Mary Catholic University as an assistant professor.

She was born in Peru and immigrated to Canada as a skilled worker in 2010. She has completed her Immigration Consultant Diploma Program with Anderson College in October 2019. She worked at a small immigration law firm where she gained solid experience in refugee and immigration law supporting lawyers, also, she has served as a Spanish interpreter as she is a Spanish native speaker and fluent in English.

She is a quick learner with a keen interest in immigration, and she loves to travel and read books in her free time. Her hobbies have helped her to develop a strong understanding of different cultures, which makes her well-suited for working in a diverse environment.

When Paola is not pursuing her goal of helping those struggling with their asylum process, she enjoys spending her time with her husband and two sons.
