Tarik Saglam started articling at Lewis & Associates LLP in July 2025 holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Ottawa. As a multilingual person who grew up in different countries, he has particular interest in areas of immigration and refugee law.
Tarik’s academic career extends from China to Canada, and he also holds a master’s degree in international relations, highlighting his curiosity in this field. During his studies at Ottawa, he also completed an exchange program at Lund University in Sweden where his studies focused on international law and EU law. All these experiences allowed him to broaden his perspective and develop a better understanding of different legal systems.
Before joining the firm, he was accredited as an interpreter by the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada and provided his services to the IRB. This experience allowed him to strengthen his understanding of the procedural aspect of the Board’s work. Over the years, Tarik also worked for a variety of organizations as a student and a young professional. He was passionate about Model UN and took part in more than 30 MUN conferences in 8 countries as a delegate, chair, and organizer since 2017.
In addition to English, Tarik can speak Turkish, Chinese (Mandarin) and is improving his Russian skills. Aside from work, Tarik enjoys spending time with his loved ones and traveling whenever he can.
