Alana Alleyne joined Lewis & Associates LLP in April 2023 as an Articling Student.
Alana was born in Barbados where she obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) with Honours from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus. She later attended Hugh Wooding Law School in Trinidad & Tobago and was called to bar in Barbados in 2013.
As a practicing Attorney-at-Law in Barbados, Alana was exposed to a wide range of practice areas and has represented clients at both the High Court and the Magistrates’ Court levels. Prior to moving to Canada in 2019, Alana was employed as an Associate at one of the Caribbean’s top commercial law firms.
In 2020, Alana graduated with a Master of Laws (LL.M) from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto, Canada. Alana then worked as an Immigration Case Manager at one of the Big 4 Accounting firms in Canada where she focussed primarily on LMIA-exempt work permits.
Alana is passionate about human rights, and in particular children’s rights, and throughout the years she has been actively involved in organizations that promote the rights of children.
