Anna Krol runs a business immigration practice helping Canadian companies expand their operations by way of diverse and international talent. Directly complimenting her business immigration practice, Anna is one of Canada’s few female Procurement and International Trade lawyers.
She likes to say that she helps family businesses become generational companies. She is the lawyer in the room and on the phone when companies are looking to understand how to expand their lines of business by selling in the unique and highly regulated sales environment that is the Canadian government.
Prior to teaming up with Lewis and Associates LLP, Anna focused on her Procurement practice at a boutique law firm in Toronto. There she represented municipal, provincial, and federal agencies and governments on procuring goods, services, and construction projects for Canada.
Prior to that, she was in-house at a global healthcare company where she advised procurement, business, and legal staff on medical device purchasing for two newly built Canadian Smart Hospitals. She summered advocating for vulnerable populations at a health authority and worked for a technology company in Vancouver winning RFPs and negotiating SaaS agreements.
Most recently Anna was a Director at one of Canada’s largest and oldest law firms, successfully expanding practice groups by millions of dollars yearly by advising on how to sell legal services to the Canadian government.
Her passion is in advocacy and litigation where she contributes to the firm’s refugee law practice by specializing in refugee claims of politically persecuted persons, unaccompanied children, domestic violence survivors, human trafficking claimants, war zones, sexual abuse, and gender-based persecution. She particularly enjoys challenging immigration decisions to the Refugee Appeal Division and arguing Judicial Review Applications in front of the Federal Court
Anna loves spending quality time with her family and friends; enjoying interesting conversations and encouraging lively debates over tasty meals. She believes surroundings and environments can calm our nervous systems and enjoys making spaces feel safe, grounded and inspiring. She hopes to one day appear in Architectural Digest or Martha Stewart Living Magazine. Ideally both.
