Carla Sturdy is a senior lawyer at Lewis & Associates LLP. Having joined the firm in 1996 when it consisted of just a few lawyers, Ms. Sturdy has been instrumental in helping Lewis & Associates LLP grow to its current size.

She received her Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) from the University of Toronto, Trinity College in 1988 and her Bachelor of Laws from the University of British Columbia in 1993.

Ms. Sturdy has dedicated her career to refugee law; in over twenty-five years of practice, she has represented thousands of refugee claimants at their hearings before Canada’s Immigration and Refugee Board, placing her among the most experienced refugee lawyers in the country.  

In addition to refugee claims, Ms. Sturdy is experienced in a wide variety of immigration matters, including matters before the Immigration Appeal and Refugee Appeal Divisions, Applications for Judicial Review in the Federal Court, as well as Humanitarian and Compassionate and PRRA applications.
