Ian Mason joined Lewis and Associates LLP in July 2019.  He received his Bachelor of Arts from Ryerson University in 2010 and his Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall in 2018, where he was also the editor-in-chief and a regular columnist for the student newspaper, Obiter Dicta.  He was called to the Bar in June 2019.

Ian articled in family law, but his passion for social justice and desire to fight for the underprivileged drew him to refugee law, where he has become a fierce and committed advocate for refugee claimants.

In his spare time, Ian plays hockey and softball and has previously been the bass player for the local rock band, Starship Experience.  He has previously volunteered for Lawyers Feed the Hungry and his local NDP candidate in the riding of York-South Weston.  He is also a cast member of the Lactors’ Studio (a theatre group comprised of other lawyers), and performed at the 2022 Fringe Festival in the stage production “Roomers”.
