Marek Balinski joined the firm in January 2024, after having practiced family law for a decade and refugee law at another firm. He specializes in new refugee claims and represents his clients before the Refugee Protection Division.
Marek came to Canada as an adult immigrant from Poland. He obtained a Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Toronto and a master’s degree in public administration from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. He completed his law degree at Western University in London, Ontario.
Marek is a native speaker of Polish and can converse with clients in French. In addition to practicing law, Marek is an avid racing sailor participating in sailing competitions throughout North America.
