Selim Boran joined Lewis & Associates LLP in March 2023, began articling with the firm in January 2025 and was called to the Bar in June 2026. He practices in immigration and refugee law, with a particular focus on refugee appeals, judicial review matters, and immigration litigation.
At Lewis & Associates LLP, Selim has worked extensively on Refugee Appeal Division proceedings and Federal Court litigation arising from immigration and refugee matters. He has been involved in judicial review applications relating to refugee decisions, temporary resident visa refusals, and mandamus proceedings, and also assists clients with a broad range of immigration and refugee matters.
Before relocating to Canada, Selim worked as a Legal Advisor at the Ministry of Defense in Turkey, where he focused on international human rights law, constitutional law, and administrative law.
Selim holds an LL.M. from Osgoode Hall Law School, where he focused on Canadian public law. His legal interests include procedural fairness, administrative decision-making, constitutional rights, and Charter-related issues in immigration and refugee matters.
He speaks English and Turkish.
